Adharshila School

Location :Sendhwa, Dist Badwani, Madhya Pradesh

Amit (an architect by training) & Jayshree (a science graduate) after working for more than 15 years in an activist organisation KMCS (Khedut Mazdoor Chetna Sangath) in Madhya Pradesh decided to get involved in the area of education and with the help of Adivasi Mukti Sangathan (AMS) started the Adharshila school.

The Adharshila School is in the area of the AMS, which is organising local tribals on their rights and economic issues. Education was a core issue for the AMS as most government schools in the area are non-functional. The Veer Khajiya Nayak Trust was set up to take up such developmental activities. The Adharshila School functions under this trust, catering to tribal children especially drop out children, by providing them with alternative education. The School raises 50% of its resources through fees and contributions from the local population.
