Govind Yadav is working in Harai village, Tendukheda, distt. Damoh, M.P. He hails from a farmer family. After completing his graduation, he worked for a voluntary organisation that took him to various parts of the country. After 1991 he started work in his own area and organised people on issues of land, govt. schemes, wages of beedi workers, drinking water etc.
In the face of life threatening opposition from vested interest groups along with his own extended family he left the area and worked in Rajasthan for some time. He moved back to Damoh in 2003 and started working with tribal, dalit and OBC communities in the region.
The people of the area who feel the need to unite to oppose the forces working against them have welcomed him back. Govind has contacts in almost 12 panchayats – 40 villages around Harrai where he has restarted the work.
