A lawyer by profession has been working with the Soura and Lanjhia Soura tribals in South Orissa since 1987. At present Pradip is working in 70 tribal hamlets organising the tribals around their basic issues of land rights, livelihood, food, education, human rights violation etc.
Majority of the tribals are landless and susceptible to exploitation by moneylenders, landlords and government officials. A people’s organisation called the Lok Chetna Sangathan has been formed. Pradeep has facilitated distribution of ceiling surplus land by Government to the tribals, regularisation of land encroachments by tribals.
